Hello, dear friends and welcome to episode number 19. This one is called How to escape from the bondage of the past. We have pretty big title and we are going to talk about some pretty big stuff. I will explain to you one of the main reasons why we feel stuck in our life. Why we feel like we live in the past and we cannot move forward. And we'll talk about a little bit of neurological science how the brain works, what happens with our brains and of also how it affects our whole life. So, first of all, one of the main things we need to explore here, and to understand our brain works in a way to protect us. That's the main purpose. It's to keep us safe and keep us alive. And evolutionary in order to do that, the brain needs to teach us something. So learning is really one of the most important processes, learning to walk, learning to eat, learning to protect yourself. Anything that has happened in your life has been a learning experience.

And when you go through something for the first time, there are new neurological pathways, the neurons in your brain are forming different connections and After that, the more you repeat the same experience, the more you strengthen those connections between the neurons. And at certain point, if you keep repeating something, it becomes automatic. A great example, if you are a driver if you drive a car, you know how when you first started learning how to do that, you were so focused on so many things, especially if you have learned to drive with a stick, then you really need to pay attention to so many things. And for a certain point, maybe you thought, Oh my gosh, it's impossible, then chances are that with practice, you got so used to it, that at certain point you no longer think about it. It's automatic for most people. That's what happens. There might be some exceptions, people who really don't like it, they may not learn or they don't want to put the effort. But for most people, if they keep practicing, eventually, it becomes automatic.

And it's not about only about driving or riding a bicycle or any other sport. It's a principle. That's what happens with everything we learn in life. When we learn to date with people, when we have the first experience of a relationship or career, we form certain neurons or connections between the neurons. And then if we repeat the same experiences, those connections become stronger, and at certain point, everything, our behavior, our thoughts, It gets out to magic. And that's one of the main reasons which is keeping us stuck in the past. So don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that you should completely forget about your past that you shouldn't neglect it. And you know, just throw it away. That's absolutely not true and you need to work when it's appropriate with the past, in psychotherapy, in energy psychology therapy, or holistic coaching or whatever you choose. There is a place there is a time to work with the past and heal it. But if you keep leaving in the past, you will recreate the same results. And here's the interesting part. Most of those things happen automatically. And the reason for that is because we allow The same thoughts in our minds, you wake up in the morning, and immediately you start focusing or asking yourself the same questions. Usually they're related to some kind of problems you have at the time.

It could be about money, it could be about your health, or about the awful balls that you have to meet today or the worries you have about your kids or whatever. But very often, most people I would say almost everyone start their day, asking themselves what will I do about those problems? Unless of course you raise your awareness and you realize that by navigating your thoughts, you can change your day and eventually change your life. It's over simplistic to say it like that, but that's what's happening in reality. So when we start our asking the same questions. And most of those thoughts, they are automatic. Because just like with, you know, with the learning experience of driving a car, you have had those questions those thoughts for quite a long time. So the connections between your neurons are very strong, that are related to those thoughts. So they come out automatically in your brain, you don't change them, you don't do anything to control them. So eventually they start controlling you. And when you think the same thoughts which are related to your past, that's when you're present and eventually your future life is basically only a repetition of the past.

That's the bondage of the past. That's how it works. And you You may think, Okay, that sounds strange, okay, I'm only thinking about it. Why does that mean that the same event or circumstances will happen? The reason for that is because your thoughts create the energy around you, they literally affect your electromagnetic field of your body. That's science. That's something which has been proven. And by that you attract the same circumstances or similar situations. And the other thing is also, that your thoughts are literally preparing your body for those experiences. And if you're wondering whether that's true or not, I would like you to follow me on a short experiment here. I want you to think about lemons. Think about going to The refrigerator, taking them out, washing them, then maybe slicing them with a knife and then taking one of the pieces and squeezing all of that in your mouth. You just take the lemon and you squeeze it in your mouth. What's happening right now, tell me what's happening right now in your mouth. I'm pretty sure that it's so vivid for you that you can literally feel the taste in your mouth. That's a response to the to the top of lemons. But that's how things work with all the other thoughts. If you think about your financial problems, your career challenges, your relationship problems, and you keep roof framing the problem says something negative and it's every time the same the same.

That's how we literally putting your body in those conditions. The thoughts are enough to generate the hormones of the stress, adrenaline, cortisol and others. But those are the two main stress hormones adrenaline and cortisol. And when you keep focusing on certain stressful, negative thoughts, your body is taking this as a trigger to prepare you as if it's really happening as if it's, you know, a danger that's facing you right now. So, what happens is that you recreate those stressful circumstances or the stressful environment only with your thoughts and your body gets into this immediate stress condition.

As we said, this also affects The electromagnetic field literally the energy of your body. And the rest is just history. You get into the repetition pattern. The same events happen because you think the same thoughts, you have the same electromagnetic energy and same things occur in your life. And they only strengthen those neurological connections and you are convinced, you know, this is my life, it will never change. That's how things are. But the key here is to understand that all of that starts in your mind. The thoughts in your mind are the trigger for those events to happen. And that's why repeating the same things, the same talks. See actions is one of the main ways in which we live in the past, basically, because we create recreate the past in our present and in our future. It's all the same, it's all stress or, of course, it varies for different people, everyone has their own story, but you tend to recreate it because you focus on the past or you think the same thoughts all over again. And the solution here is to change your thoughts.

There is a wise saying, which sounds something like that. You can't create you can solve the problem on the same level where the problem has occurred. You have to raise higher Here is another one By repeating the same result, sorry, by repeating the same actions and expecting different results. That's what we call madness. It's a little overused, but it's definitely true. So the key here is that you need to change something. It means to get out of this out to Matic process, the automatic thoughts, actions, behavior, think about it. How many of your thoughts are repeating on a daily basis? I bet that a huge part of them are the same each day. And also your actions. Think about how many of your days are kind of similar with the same routine stuff, waking up at the same time doing the same things going to work, everything happens at the same time. For you. That's how we get into the trap of repetition and everything becomes automatic. When you live in this automatic state. It is, on certain level, it seems easier.

And again, the main idea of this is that the brain is trying to save energy. And when something becomes a habit, and you get into this automatic mode, it allows you to save energy. And that's why it happens. But it's not allowing you to have a joyful life, to experience new events, new. Whatever you want in your life, new relationships in your career and your opportunities, creativity, whatever. So, the solution here, first of all, be very careful of the thought. You allow in your mind. Don't focus on the negative things, especially right after you wake up. Right after you wake up, the mind is still in kind of a transitional phase between being asleep and being awake. The waves of the brain are more specific and it's like programming your mind when first thing in the morning you think about problems you are programming yourself to have a stressful day. So be very careful about the first thoughts, the things that you focus on first thing in the morning. And second of all, try to escape from routine stuff from the our automatic actions. Try to do things in a new way and you may literally start with some very, very simple things and they may Might be a little weird, a little strange, but they will work. For example, a simple idea here. If your right hand is the dominant one, try doing more things with your left one, making your coffee with the left hand or eating with your left hand.

Or if you go to work using you know the same path or following the same path, try a different route, try a different approach. Go shopping in a different store, go out in a different coffee or a different restaurant. It sounds very simple, but it literally opens your mind to to be awake. Because it's not the same if you do the same things at the same time and you repeat that the mind knows what to expect. So you're in a little bit of kind of asleep state, not literally Of course, but you're not fully awake. If you are facing something brand new, something exciting, then you are much more awake. And that's how the shift may happen. That's how you can make new choices. That's how your energy changes. And eventually you can attract different situations literally, the biochemistry of your body is different. So think about, which are the simplest things you can try and try them on a daily basis, new things, new activities, new places to go new people to meet new habits, change your habits, don't allow yourself to have you know, like the same habits for years without changing anything because that's the path to

Automatic state. And basically, it's like living but not really living. So, that was the main idea I wanted to share with you. It's a revolutionary one if you really embrace it. And the main idea is actually to change your thoughts, change your habits, and don't allow yourself to live in the habit. A great idea here is also to meditate. Meditation and any type of mental work can allow you to change your focus to, you know, to get rid of the negative thoughts, to open up your mind for something new. And literally to prepare your mind and your body for something better in the future and not to re experience the past all over again. So meditation is The other thing which I highly recommend, so, thank you very much for listening to this episode. Let me know what do you think about those ideas? And what are you ready to try something new to experiment with, that eventually will change your life and your habits. Thank you so much for joining me, and I'll see you next week.
